Accessibility statement for North Lincolnshire Libraries

We want everyone who visits this website to feel welcome and find the experience rewarding. We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and in doing so adhere to many of the available standards and guidelines.

What are we doing?

To help us make the this website a positive place for everyone, we've been using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and user friendly for everyone.

The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA and AAA). We’ve chosen Level AA as the target for this website.

Accessibility Tips

In addition to the steps we have taken to make the software accessible to everyone; many people are likely to get the most accessible experience of using this site by customising their computer to suit their individual needs. For example: to get the site read to them, to change its colour scheme, or increase the size of its fonts.

We recommend you visit the excellent BBC My Web, My Way(External link) site containing videos of how these customisations might suit you and covers topics such as personalising the web settings for people with:

  • impaired or no vision
  • impaired or no hearing
  • language difficulties
  • difficulties using a mouse
